I have been training with Nigel for some 5.5 years now. Nigel has trained me from being a novice boxer through to being a competition winner. Nigel is a personable and dedicated coach who delivers results and presents real value to his customers. Nigel has a quiet and effective style that engenders trust and makes you want to deliver for him. His sessions are fun, challenging and push me far harder then I would push myself. Nigel has a very good technical eye, he can watch a client box and very quickly analyse where there are developmental needs and how to address issues. When training his clients for competitive bouts he has a particular gift in identifying opponents weak points and adjusting his charges programs accordingly.
It is well known within the members at the club that if you want to win your fight - go to Nigel.
Working with Nigel has been motivational, probably therapeutic and a huge amount of fun. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn about boxing and improve their fitness.

I’ve been training with Nige for just over a year now and have to say he’s been one of the most positive influences of my adult life! I originally started with a view to getting fit and ready for my year-long world tour. I’d been to various gyms over the years but felt like I wasn’t really making any progress.
After my initial intro session, I was soon training with Nige 3 times a week and after 2 months had lost a tonne of weight (not literally!), felt fitter than I’d ever been and was strangely addicted to beating the living daylights out of him (ok, again not literally!). The time I’ve spent training with Nige has been invaluable. I now even have his voice in my head sometimes when I’m on stage, spurring me on when I feel like I’ve got no energy! His absolute authenticity on every level, with sport and life itself, combined with his sense of humour and ability to motivate both in and outside of the ring, has certainly left me both physically and mentally stronger than ever before. So yes, cheers Mr Coach – you rock!

To describe Nigel as a personal trainer would be a considerable understatement. Nigel is what the Americans call a 'coach'. That's why professional sportsmen and women, professional musicians and a throng of highly successful people retain Nigel's services. Simply put, Nigel delivers results!

I came to Nigel incredibly unfit & out of shape & to be honest, I'd only thought to come boxing because a couple of guy friends who trained with Nigel already told me girls shouldn't box so it was a two fingered salute to them really! However, I did my first session & I absolutely loved it! I hate going to the gym & doing the same routine on the treadmill. The thing about boxing is firstly it's great for your fitness & secondly, it's addictive! I love the technicality & the feeling when you've got everything right & you can land a great punch. It's never going to be much fun if you haven't got a good trainer though & Nige is one of the best! He's incredibly encouraging, always offers great advice around complimentary training & diet & he's just a genuinely good bloke as well! He's pretty nifty around the ring, so you'll be kept on your toes & fitness wise, I came on leaps & bounds training with him. I've been boxing for coming up to a year now & look forward to coming to my sessions & improving my skills. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nigel to anyone.

From working with Nige, I have made dramatic improvements in my tennis and have a found a new skill in boxing. Not only has he helped me with all aspects of my tennis game, both the physical and mental, he has also helped me achieve a greater perspective on life. Through working with Nige, I am in the best physical shape of my life and I also have a new-found mental toughness. With these new tools I am definitely on my way to realising my full potential. Nige has been the dominant driving force in helping me achieve these goals. All I can say is that Nige is not only a great trainer but also a great motivator and if you are striving to be the best you can be, both in and outside the ring, I can’t think of a better person to have in your corner!

I first met Nige in March 2010 at time when my confidence, belief and fitness needed a boost. I had had a string of bad results and I knew that something had to change. Boxing seemed like the ideal solution to getting my competitive edge back and I was lucky enough to have my first taster session with Nige at Cityboxer. He immediately saw in me my potential, and gave me the courage I needed to get back on the horse and fight for my goals. We worked hard on fitness, strength and mental toughness. His dedication, knowledge and coaching ability have been paramount to my development as an athlete.Since March, I was given the honour of captaining England at the Commonwealth Fencing Games and came back with a bronze medal in the individual event and a gold medal in the team event.
I am now at the beginning of the Olympic qualifying cycle and I am working hard towards qualification for the London 2012 Olympic Games. If I qualify for the Olympic Games, I know that a large part of that would be down to Nige and his commitment to getting the best out of me. He is actually much more than just a boxing and performance coach. He is also a mentor, an advisor and a friend. He puts so much into everything that he does and I am very lucky to have him as part of my support team. I believe that you are only as good as the people you put around you. Whether you want to win or have fun with your goals, Nige will get the best out of you. I cannot thank or praise him enough.
